In the movie, Davey Stone is a former basketball star who has never grown up and continues to behave like a reckless teenager. After a night of heavy drinking and vandalism, he is sentenced to community service and anger management classes over the holiday season.
As he begrudgingly performs his community service, Davey meets an eccentric elderly man named Whitey, who is the head of the local youth basketball league. Through their interactions, Davey begins to learn the true meaning of the holidays and how to become a better person.
The movie features an array of musical numbers, including comedic songs about Hanukkah and Christmas, as well as emotional ballads about family and redemption. The film also explores themes of loss, grief, and forgiveness, as Davey confronts the demons of his past and tries to make amends for his mistakes.
