Edie follows the story of an 83-year-old lady named Edith Moore, who has spent her entire life devoted to and caring for her husband. However, when he passes away, Edie is left with a deep sense of bitterness and resentment as she feels that she missed out on many opportunities in her life due to her selflessness.
Determined to take control of her life and pursue a long-standing dream, Edie decides to climb a mountain in Scotland, despite her age and physical limitations. She sets out on the journey alone and initially struggles, but eventually finds help in the form of Jonny, a young man who offers to assist her on her climb.
As they work together, Edie begins to confront the demons of her past, learning to let go of her anger and bitterness and embrace the small moments of joy in her life. Through her journey, Edie learns that it's never too late to pursue your dreams and that the most important thing in life is to find happiness and fulfillment on your own terms.
The film stars Sheila Hancock as Edie and Kevin Guthrie as Jonny, and it was directed by Simon Hunter. It was released in 2018 and received positive reviews from critics for its powerful performances and inspiring message.
