After realizing he's stuck in a time loop, Cage seeks out Rita Vrataski, a skilled soldier who understands what he's experiencing as she had previously been in a similar situation. Together, they work to figure out a way to break the time loop and ultimately defeat the alien invaders, known as Mimics.
With each repeated day, Cage becomes more skilled in combat and develops a closer relationship with Vrataski. However, they soon realize that the Mimics have the ability to reset time as well, making their mission to stop the alien invasion much more difficult.
Through sheer determination and sacrifice, Cage and Vrataski are able to successfully locate and destroy the Omega, the central alien organism controlling all Mimics. Cage is ultimately able to break the time loop and awaken back in the present, where he is hailed as a hero for his role in defeating the alien invasion.
The film, directed by Doug Liman and starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, was praised for its clever storytelling and intense action sequences. It is based on the Japanese light novel "All You Need Is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.
