The film revolves around the character of Master Chef Chu, who has dedicated his entire life to cooking and is a widower who lives with his three daughters, Jia-Ning, Jia-Jen, and Jia-Chien, in Taipei. Each of his daughters is at a different stage in their life, seeking fulfillment, and finding love. However, they are all struggling to connect with their father, who is distant and reserved.

Jia-Ning, the youngest daughter, is a free spirit and a waitress at a fast-food restaurant. She falls in love with a delivery boy, who aspires to become a chef, and they start a playful, puppy love relationship. Jia-Jen, the middle daughter, is a shy and introverted schoolteacher, who has given up on love after a failed relationship. She meets an older, single Christian co-worker, who becomes her confidante and helps her regain her faith in love.

Jia-Chien, the eldest daughter, is a successful executive chef, who works at a famous hotel and is a career-driven perfectionist. She gets involved with her father's former apprentice, who now owns a rival restaurant, and they share a passionate yet tumultuous relationship, as they struggle to reconcile their professional and personal ambitions.
