Amber and Kyle are a happily married couple who have been trying to conceive a child for a long time. They struggle with the emotional toll of infertility treatments, but they are finally able to celebrate when they learn that Amber is pregnant. However, their joy is short-lived when they are involved in a car accident that causes Amber to miscarry.
The other driver in the accident, Jessica, also lost her unborn baby and she blames Amber for the tragedy. Jessica becomes obsessed with ruining Amber's life, and she hatches a plan to move in next door and get a job with Amber's doctor. From there, she begins to manipulate the situation to her advantage, using information gleaned from her job to make Amber's life a living hell.
