Duplicity is a 2009 American romantic comedy thriller film directed by Tony Gilroy and starring Julia Roberts and Clive Owen. It tells the story of two former government agents turned corporate spies, Claire Stenwick and Ray Koval, who are now working for two rival companies, Burkett & Randle and Equikrom.

Claire and Ray are romantically involved, but their trust issues and conflicting interests prevent them from settling down. However, when they both discover that their employers are trying to develop a revolutionary new product called "Clearist", they see an opportunity to make a fortune and escape from their double lives.

In an elaborate scheme, Claire and Ray decide to switch sides and work together to steal the formula for Clearist and sell it to a third party for millions of dollars. They plan their moves meticulously, using their espionage skills to outsmart their rivals, while trying to keep their personal relationship a secret from everyone.

As they travel the world to collect the pieces of the puzzle, they encounter unexpected obstacles and surprises, including a ruthless CEO (played by Tom Wilkinson), an eccentric inventor (played by Paul Giamatti), and a persistent FBI agent (played by Denis O'Hare) who is on their trail.

Despite their best efforts to stay one step ahead, Claire and Ray find themselves trapped in a web of lies, betrayal, and danger, where the only thing they can rely on is each other. In the end, they must decide whether love or money is more important to them, and whether they can trust each other enough to build a future together.
