Dune is based on the classic science fiction novel by Frank Herbert and is directed by Denis Villeneuve. The story takes place on the planet Arrakis, also known as Dune, which is the only source of the valuable spice melange. The planet is ruled by House Harkonnen but is soon taken over by House Atreides, led by Duke Leto Atreides (Oscar Isaac) with his son Paul (Timothée Chalamet) at his side.
As they begin to unravel the secrets of the planet and the spice, they uncover a sinister plot by the Harkonnens to destroy the Atreides family and take back control of Arrakis. The plot is aided by the powerful Bene Gesserit Sisterhood and the enigmatic Fremen, a group of desert warriors who live on Dune.
As the conflict escalates, Paul discovers that he may be the long-awaited Kwisatz Haderach, a messianic figure who could unlock the full potential of humanity and unite the people of Dune. But in order to fulfill his destiny, he must confront his own fears and face the ultimate foe, the evil Baron Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård).
Dune also boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, and Javier Bardem. The film promises to be an epic sci-fi adventure, full of intrigue, action, and political maneuvering.
