In the movie Dudley Do-Right, Brendan Fraser plays the titular character - a bumbling, well-intentioned Mountie who is determined to keep his town safe no matter what. His arch-nemesis is Snidely Whiplash (played by Alfred Molina), a dastardly villain who is constantly trying to wreak havoc in the town.
When Whiplash comes up with his latest scheme to buy all the property in town and start a fake gold rush, it's up to Dudley to stop him. Along the way, Dudley falls in love with Nell Fenwick (played by Sarah Jessica Parker), a wealthy heiress who has come to town to invest in the gold rush.
Despite his best efforts, Dudley is constantly getting in his own way as he tries to foil Whiplash's plans. He's constantly falling off his horse, getting caught in his own bear traps, and generally stumbling his way through life. But somehow, he manages to always come out on top in the end.
The movie is a tongue-in-cheek parody of old Western tropes, with plenty of slapstick humor and ridiculous gags. While it wasn't a huge commercial success, it has since become a cult classic among fans of Fraser and silly comedies.
