Dudes is a 1987 American adventure/comedy film directed by Penelope Spheeris and written by Randall Jahnson. The film follows two New York City punks named Grant and Biscuit, played by Jon Cryer and Daniel Roebuck, who decide to travel cross-country from New York City to Los Angeles in a turquoise Volkswagen beetle.
As they make their way through the Western United States, they are contrasted with the images of the Wild West. Along the way, they befriend a woman named Jessie (Catherine Mary Stewart) who runs a struggling wrecking service with her sister (Lee Ving).
Their journey takes a violent turn when they witness the murder of their friend "Milo" (Flea), a fellow punk who joined them on their journey. Seeking revenge, Grant and Biscuit find themselves in a showdown with a gang of violent rednecks led by "Missoula" (Lee Ving) and his henchmen (including John Densmore of The Doors).
The film features an eclectic mix of music, including punk rock, country, and blues, with a soundtrack featuring artists such as Jane's Addiction, Steve Earle, and Adrian Belew. The film was not a commercial success, but has since gained a cult following for its unique blend of genres and themes.
