The Ute Indians are a group of Native Americans who are constantly being pushed out of their land by white settlers who are in search of gold. The situation becomes complicated when two warring factions among the Ute Indians emerge, with Chief Yellow Hawk (Charles Stevens) and his son Tahrohon representing one group, while the hot-headed Brave Eagle (Anthony Caruso) and his followers represent the other.

Gary Brannon, a former Confederate soldier and a man with a deep-seated hatred for Native Americans, is hired by a group of gold miners to protect them from the Ute Indians. He soon finds himself caught in the middle of the conflict and must put aside his prejudices to mediate a peace agreement between the two factions.

As tensions escalate, Gary develops a close relationship with Tahrohon and finds himself falling in love with a Ute woman, played by Lorna Thayer. Together, they work towards finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict and preventing a full-blown war between the Ute Indians and the gold miners.
