Drillbit Taylor is a 2008 American comedy film directed by Steven Brill and written by Kristofor Brown and Seth Rogen. The film stars Owen Wilson as the titular character, a homeless beggar and petty thief who masquerades as a bodyguard for hire.

The story follows three high school freshmen, Wade, Ryan, and Emmit, who are constantly bullied by their classmate, Filkins. Fed up with enduring the daily torment, the three boys decide to hire a bodyguard to protect them from Filkins and his cronies. They come across Drillbit Taylor, who convinces them that he is a former army ranger and skilled bodyguard with a variety of tactics to defend them.

Drillbit soon moves into their homes, posing as a tutor and bodyguard. However, it quickly becomes apparent to the boys that Drillbit is not what he seems. He has no actual skills and is only interested in getting some quick cash for his own selfish reasons. As the plot progresses, the boys continue to endure Filkins' harassment while Drillbit tries to avoid being caught out as a fraud.

Things come to a head when Filkins threatens to seriously injure the boys unless they face him in a fight. In a last-ditch effort to protect themselves, the boys use some of Drillbit's questionable advice to prepare for the fight. However, it doesn't go as planned and they end up in danger. In the end, it's Drillbit himself who comes to their rescue and facilitates a reconciliation between the bullies and bullied.

Drillbit Taylor received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising its humor and performances, while others criticized its formulaic plot and lack of originality. Despite this, the film was a moderate financial success, grossing over $58 million worldwide.
