Dragon is a 2011 Chinese martial arts film directed by Peter Chan. The film stars Donnie Yen as Liu Jin-xi, a papermaker living in a small village with his wife and two children. Liu is a former martial arts expert who has committed many sins in his past.

When a group of bandits try to rob Liu's store, he instinctively uses his martial arts skills to defend himself and his family, killing two of the bandits in the process. The incident attracts the attention of detective Xu Bai-jiu, played by Takeshi Kaneshiro, who sees similarities between Liu’s fighting style and that of a notorious killer known as the "72 Demons".

As Xu investigates, he begins to suspect that Liu Jin-xi may be the notorious killer he has been searching for. Meanwhile, Liu struggles to keep his past hidden as his former master, played by Yu Rongguang, comes looking for him to settle an old score.

The film is shot in a muted color palette, emphasizing the tranquility of village life contrasted with the violent clashes that occur between characters. The action sequences in the film are visceral and intense, showcasing the talent of Donnie Yen as a martial artist.

Dragon was a critical and commercial success in China and internationally, winning numerous awards including Best Cinematography and Best Action Choreography at the Golden Horse Awards. The film is widely regarded as one of the best martial arts films in recent years, proving that the genre still has relevance and appeal to modern audiences.
