Rising Terror: Dracula's Bloody Return

Horror  United Kingdom

Dracula Has Risen from the Grave is a horror film released in 1968 and directed by Freddie Francis. It is the fourth installment in Hammer Film Productions' Dracula series and features Christopher Lee reprising his role as the titular character.

The film begins with a group of villagers attempting to perform an exorcism on Dracula's castle, which is perched on a cliff overlooking their town. During the ritual, a priest falls and cuts his head, and his blood trickles into the mouth of Dracula, reviving him from his slumber.

Dracula then begins to terrorize the nearby village of Keineneburg, where he is drawn to a local tavern owned by a man named Zena. Zena's ailing husband has made a deal with Dracula, giving him permission to feed on Zena in exchange for curing his illness.

Meanwhile, a young Monsignor named Ernst Muller arrives in the town to take charge of the local church. Muller is horrified to learn of the village's sordid history with Dracula and becomes determined to destroy the vampire once and for all.

He enlists the help of a local atheist named Paul, who believes that the only way to defeat Dracula is through science and reason rather than faith. Together, they hatch a plan to lure Dracula into the church and kill him with a giant crucifix.

As Dracula continues to feed on the villagers and gain strength, Muller and Paul race against the clock to save the town from eternal damnation at the hands of the undead Prince of Darkness.
