Dracula 2000 is a modern retelling of Bram Stoker's classic novel Dracula. In the movie, Abraham Van Helsing is working as an antiques dealer in London when thieves break into his shop and steal a mysterious coffin containing the original count himself.
As the coffin is transported to New Orleans, where the thieves plan to open it and steal the riches inside, Van Helsing teams up with a young apprentice named Simon to track down the thieves and stop Dracula from unleashing his terror on the world once again.
Along the way, they team up with a group of thieves who also want to stop Dracula, including a beautiful woman named Mary who has a connection to Dracula's past.
As they race against time to stop Dracula's reign of terror, they uncover shocking secrets about the count's origins and motives, and must use all of their skills and knowledge to finally defeat him.
Dracula 2000 stars Gerard Butler as Dracula, Christopher Plummer as Van Helsing, Jonny Lee Miller as Simon, and Justine Waddell as Mary, and is directed by Patrick Lussier. It was released in the year 2000, hence the title.
