Downrange is a 2017 horror-thriller movie directed by Ryuhei Kitamura. The film starts with six friends on a road trip to a music festival. While driving, their tire blows out, leaving them stranded in the middle of nowhere. As they try to change the tire, they suddenly hear the sound of a gunshot. They quickly realize that they are being targeted by an unseen sniper that seems to be watching their every move.
With no cell phone signal and no way to call for help, they are forced to try and survive the sniper's attacks. The group struggles to stay alive as they are picked off one by one. They soon discover that the sniper has a clear view of all their actions, and any attempt to escape will result in a guaranteed death.
The movie is a thrilling and intense experience, with well-paced tension building that makes the viewer constantly on edge. The cinematography captures the horror of being trapped and helpless in the middle of nowhere with an unseen killer picking off the group one by one. The story does not attempt to explain the motives behind the sniper's actions or who he is, instead letting the audience focus entirely on the characters' struggle for survival.
