The playboy journalist, Catcher Block, is a handsome and successful writer for a men's magazine. He is known for his womanizing ways and his refusal to settle down. One day, he comes up with a plan to write an article about the rise of feminism in society, and decides to target a well-known feminist advice author, Barbara Novak.
Barbara Novak is a strong and independent woman who has just released a book, "Down with Love", which encourages women to focus on their careers instead of seeking love and marriage. Catcher Block is intrigued by this concept and decides to meet Barbara to interview her for his article.
However, when they meet, Catcher is immediately smitten by Barbara's intelligence and wit. He decides to play along with her ideals and pretends to be a shy and naive man who is seeking advice on how to find love.
