Double Team is a 1997 action film directed by Tsui Hark and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dennis Rodman, and Mickey Rourke. Van Damme plays Jack Quinn, a retired anti-terrorist agent who is brought back into service when his arch-nemesis, Stavros (Rourke), resurfaces. Hunted by Stavros and his goons, Jack seeks the assistance of an eccentric weapons dealer named Yaz (Rodman), who provides him with some unconventional weaponry.
As Jack and Yaz work together to take down Stavros, they must also contend with a group of international assassins who have been hired to eliminate them. Their mission takes them from Rome to Antwerp to the Coliseum in Rome, where they engage in a dramatic showdown against Stavros and his army of terrorists.
Double Team was panned by critics upon its release, but has since gained a cult following among fans of the action genre. The film is known for its over-the-top action sequences, including a chase through a crowded marketplace on motorcycles and a fight atop an exploding oil tanker.
