The two teenage brothers, Jimmy and Billy Lee, live in a world that has been forever changed by a devastating earthquake that ravaged much of California. The state is now under the control of an oppressive government, and the citizens are struggling to survive in the harsh new reality.
As the story begins, Jimmy and Billy discover that they possess half of an ancient Chinese talisman called the Double Dragon. This talisman is said to have mystical powers that can grant the bearer immense power and control over their surroundings. Unfortunately, the boys soon learn that an evil gang leader named Bo Abobo has the other half of the medallion and is determined to get their half so he can use the completed Double Dragon medallion for his own nefarious purposes.
Jimmy and Billy are quickly plunged into a perilous adventure as they try to evade Bo Abobo and his gang of ruthless henchmen. Along the way, they meet a host of interesting characters, including a wise old sensei, a beautiful and mysterious woman named Marian, and a band of rebels who are fighting to overthrow the government.
As they journey through the dangerous streets of post-earthquake California, Jimmy and Billy must use all of their martial arts skills and their wits to survive and protect their half of the Double Dragon. Along the way, they uncover secrets about their own family history and the true power of the Double Dragon, which could change the fate of the entire world.
