The movie begins with Doraemon reminding Nobita of his summer vacation research homework. Nobita expresses his disinterest in the topic and decides to take a nap instead. While napping, he has a dream where he travels back in time and witnesses the creation of the world as described in the Bible.

He sees the Garden of Eden and observes Adam and Eve disobeying God by eating the forbidden apple. This leads to their expulsion from the garden and the beginning of humanity's struggles. As he travels through different periods in history, Nobita realizes the impact that Adam and Eve's mistake has had on the world.

Doraemon then offers Nobita a device called the "Storybook Wormhole" that allows him to travel through different eras and learn more about the creation of the world. Nobita uses this device to visit the era of the dinosaurs, the ancient Greek civilization, and even the future.

Along the way, he learns about the importance of taking responsibility for one's actions and making more responsible choices. The movie ends with Nobita returning to the present day and completing his summer vacation homework with a new perspective on the world and the role that humans play in its evolution.
