Doomsday is a 2008 post-apocalyptic action-thriller directed by Neil Marshall. The film is set in Scotland, where the deadly Reaper virus has broken out and devastated the entire country. The British government manages to contain the virus by sealing off the country with a massive wall and leaving the surviving population to struggle for survival within.

Once inside the quarantine zone, Sinclair and her team quickly discover that the country has become a lawless wasteland where survivors have formed clans and societies. The team has to fight their way through these factions to find the cure.
On their mission, they come across a medieval-style castle, where a strange group of survivors has a relatively advanced community, seemingly resistant to the virus. Sinclair's team learns that the castle's inhabitants are the descendants of scientists who had been researching a cure to the virus. They barter the cure with Sinclair's team in exchange for a promise of relocation outside Britain.
Meanwhile, they encounter Sol (Craig Conway), who is the leader of a cannibalistic gang that has kidnapped Sinclair's team's doctor and plans to eat him. Sinclair and her team ultimately manage to rescue their doctor and secure the cure.
As they prepare to leave with the cure, Sinclair decides to stay behind in Scotland to help rebuild society and make up for the loss of her family all those years ago.
Doomsday is a thrilling and action-packed film that draws inspiration from classic cult films such as Escape from New York and The Road Warrior. Critics praised the film for its gritty and stylized visuals, strong performances from the cast, and its homage to classic genre films.
