Don't Worry Darling is a psychological horror-thriller film directed by Olivia Wilde. The film is set in the 1950s in the idealized community of Victory, an experimental company town housing the men who work for the top-secret Victory Project and their families. The story follows Alice, played by Florence Pugh, and Jack, played by Harry Styles, a young couple living in Victory.
Alice is a housewife who spends her days taking care of the house while Jack works at the Victory Project, a top-secret government facility. Alice and Jack's life in Victory seems perfect, but as the story progresses, cracks begin to appear in their idyllic life. Alice starts to notice something sinister lurking beneath the surface of Victory, and she begins to question the true nature of the town and the work that Jack is doing at the Victory Project.
As Alice starts to investigate, she uncovers a dark conspiracy that threatens the very lives of everyone in Victory. The film explores themes of power, control, and the sinister underbelly of suburbia, all through the lens of a psychological horror-thriller.
The movie also stars Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, KiKi Layne, and Nick Kroll. The screenplay is written by Katie Silberman, based on a story by Carey Van Dyke and Shane Van Dyke. The film is set to release in late 2021.
