Action,Drama  South Korea

Don't Cry, Mommy is a South Korean drama film directed by Kim Yong-Han. The movie tells the heartbreaking story of a mother and daughter who are dealing with the aftermath of rape and suicide.

Yoo Rim is a single mother trying to make the best of her life after a divorce. Her daughter, Eun Ah, is attending a new school and struggling to fit in. Eun Ah finds herself attracted to Jo Han, a popular boy in her class. When he and his friends invite her to a party, she eagerly accepts the invitation, hoping to get closer to him.

However, things take a dark turn when Jo Han and his friends sexually assault Eun Ah. Traumatized and ashamed, Eun Ah withdraws from her family and friends. She cannot bear to tell her mother what has happened to her.

One day, Eun Ah tragically takes her own life. Devastated by her daughter's death, Yoo Rim seeks justice for her daughter. She tries to press charges against Jo Han and his friends, but their wealthy families use their influence to ensure that the boys are not punished severely.

Feeling abandoned by the justice system, Yoo Rim takes matters into her own hands. She stalks and taunts Jo Han and his friends, eventually getting her revenge.

Don't Cry, Mommy is a heartbreaking exploration of grief, revenge, and the broken justice system. The movie is a powerful commentary on the trauma of sexual assault and the ways in which society fails victims of rape. Despite its heavy subject matter, the film is beautifully shot and features poignant performances from its cast.
