Guns Donovan is a former Navy seal who lives a carefree life in the South Seas with his friends, Doc Dedham and Boats Gilhooley. They spend their days drinking, fishing, and playing pranks on each other. However, their peaceful existence is disrupted when Dedham's daughter, Amelia, arrives on the island to visit her father.
Amelia, a prim and proper Bostonian, is initially shocked by her father's lifestyle and the behavior of his friends. She is particularly irked by Guns' carefree attitude and flippant remarks. However, as she spends more time on the island, she begins to warm up to Guns and his easygoing nature.
Meanwhile, the locals are facing a crisis as a group of gold-diggers are trying to exploit their land. Guns and his friends rally to help the locals defend their island and outsmart the greedy outsiders.
As Guns and Amelia's romance blossoms, she must decide whether to return to her old life in Boston or stay on the island with Guns and start a new life. In the end, Guns and Amelia decide to stay together on the island, while Doc and Boats continue their wild ways.
