Doctor Zhivago is a historical epic set during the Russian Revolution and World War I. Omar Sharif plays the titular character, Yuri Zhivago, a doctor and poet in Moscow who is married to Tonya (Geraldine Chaplin) but falls in love with Lara (Julie Christie), a woman with whom he has a chance meeting.
