The movie Diva follows the story of Lee-young, a talented diver with a bright future in the sport. She has trained hard for years, and her dream of competing in the Olympics is within reach. However, her focus is split when her best friend Su-jin needs her help.
Determined to assist Su-jin, Lee-young makes the difficult decision to switch her speciality to synchronised swimming, an event she has never competed in before. Together, the two friends work hard to prepare for the Olympic selection trials. However, tragedy strikes when the pair are involved in a strange accident. Su-jin goes missing and is presumed dead, while Lee-young survives with no memory of the incident.
As Lee-young begins to recover, she starts to remember strange and unsettling details about Su-jin's life. These memories shatter her image of her best friend, causing her to question everything she knew about her. On top of that, she begins to struggle with her own identity and purpose now that her dream of competitive diving is in jeopardy.
Determined to find out the truth about her friend's disappearance, Lee-young begins to dig into Su-jin's past. In doing so, she discovers shocking secrets that threaten to unravel everything she holds dear, including her athletic career and her own sense of self.
