The movie is a silent film made in 1924 and directed by Fritz Lang. It is based on the medieval German epic poem Nibelungenlied. However, Siegfried's happiness is short-lived as Kriemhild becomes the subject of jealousy and political intrigue among Gunther's court. She is married off to a powerful warrior named Hagen, who plots against Siegfried and ultimately kills him, leading to a tragic end for the lovers.
