The movie Devilreaux is set in the small town of Bentwood in Louisiana in the year 2023. Bentwood was once famous for being the site where a series of gruesome murders took place in the 1800s, which were never solved. Rumors have always been circulated that the murders were committed by a man named Devilreaux, who was never caught.
A group of teenagers from the town, who are fascinated by the town's dark history, accidentally awaken the spirit of Devilreaux by performing a forbidden voodoo ritual in an abandoned house where the murders took place.
As soon as the spirit is awakened, strange things start happening around Bentwood, and people start dying in gruesome ways. The teenagers soon realize that they have unleashed a terrible force upon their town and try to find a way to put it back to rest before it's too late.
In their search for a solution, they come across a local voodoo priestess who explains to them that Devilreaux's spirit can only be defeated by obtaining his skull and burying it in his grave at the exact moment of his death, which coincides with the anniversary of the final murder in the series.
The teenagers embark on a race against time, battling Devilreaux's malevolent spirit and other supernatural entities, while trying to locate his skull before the anniversary of his death arrives. Will they be successful in their quest, or will Devilreaux claim more victims before their time runs out?
