As Easy investigates the case, he must navigate the racial tensions of 1940s Los Angeles, as well as the corrupt underworld of the city. Along the way, he meets a cast of complex characters, including Mouse, his dangerous friend from his past; Joppy, a bartender who helps him in his investigation; and Coretta, a beautiful woman who becomes Easy's love interest.
As Easy gets closer to finding Daphne Monet, he discovers a trail of deceit and betrayal that leads him to some unexpected places. He also realizes that he's being followed and that his life is in danger. Despite the risks, Easy is determined to solve the case and get paid.
Devil in a Blue Dress is a gritty film noir that combines elements of crime, drama, and social commentary.
