The movie follows a diverse group of high school students, including a jock, a goth, a cheerleader, a stoner, and a nerd, who find themselves trapped in detention after school. As they serve their punishment, they start noticing strange behavior from their classmates outside, who have turned into zombies.
The group soon realizes that they need to find a way out, but the school is surrounded by the undead. As they fight for their survival, they also confront their differences and prejudices, and form unlikely alliances in order to stay alive.
The movie presents a mix of humor, horror, and teenage angst, with the students facing not only the zombie threat but also their personal demons. It is a coming-of-age story set in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, with plenty of gore and laughs along the way.
