The movie begins with a flashback to 1000 years ago in Kyoto, where a group of people are trying to protect the Healing Buddha statue from those who want to steal it. The statue is said to have the power to heal any illness or injury.
In the present day, Kogoro is hired by a rich businessman to recover the stolen statue. He travels to Kyoto with Ran, Conan, and Sonoko, where they meet Heiji, who is also there to investigate the theft of the statue.
Together, Heiji and Conan work to solve the case, using their intelligence and deductive skills to uncover clues and suspects. Along the way, they meet a variety of interesting characters, including a monk who is an expert in martial arts, a beautiful geisha, and a creepy old man who seems to know more than he lets on.
As they get closer to solving the case, Heiji also reveals that he has a personal connection to the city of Kyoto and a past love interest who he has been searching for. The identity of Heiji's first love is eventually revealed, leading to an emotional moment between Heiji and Conan.
In the end, the group is able to recover the stolen statue and bring the culprit to justice, all while experiencing the rich history and culture of Kyoto.
