As the world reels from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, a man (played by Tom Hardy) decides to take no chances and retreats to a remote desert location to wait it out. Armed with plenty of supplies and his wits, he thinks he's safe from the virus and the panic it has caused.
However, one evening as he's settling into his routine, he becomes aware of a strange sound outside his shelter. Investigating, he discovers a woman who has stumbled upon his location, looking for refuge. She's sick and feverish, and as she collapses, he realizes with horror that she's infected with the virus.
Despite his best attempts to keep her quarantined and control the situation, things quickly spiral out of control. As they fight to survive the night, he's forced to confront his own weaknesses and vulnerabilities as he battles to save himself while also trying to help the woman.
