Derailed is a 2005 thriller film directed by Mikael Håfström and starring Clive Owen, Jennifer Aniston and Vincent Cassel. The movie follows the story of Charles Schine (Owen), a married advertising executive, who falls in love with Lucinda Harris (Aniston), a married financial advisor, during their daily commute on a train. However, their affair turns into a nightmare when they are ambushed by a violent criminal named LaRoche (Cassel) in a hotel room.
LaRoche brutally beats Charles and sexually assaults Lucinda, before stealing their wallets and leaving. However, their nightmare is far from over, as LaRoche begins to blackmail them for money. Charles pays LaRoche, but the criminal continues to demand more money and threatens to harm Charles and his family if he doesn't comply.
Desperate to save his family, Charles turns to a private investigator named Detective Franklin (Giancarlo Esposito) for help. Franklin advises Charles to set a trap for LaRoche, but warns him that it could become dangerous. Together, Charles and Lucinda hatch a plan to turn the tables on LaRoche and get their revenge.
The final act of the movie is a thrilling showdown between Charles, Lucinda and LaRoche, as they confront each other with their secrets and lies. In the end, the tables are turned as Charles and Lucinda prove to be the ones in control, and LaRoche is left to face the consequences of his actions.
