The movie Denmark follows the journey of Herb, a man who is trying to escape his dismal life in the UK, and ends up in Denmark. Herb decides to smuggle himself to Denmark on a cargo ship in order to experience the luxurious lives of Danish prisoners. However, after realizing that he cannot rob a bank without getting caught, he decides to find work instead.
Herb gets a job at an organic farm, where he meets a friendly local barmaid, Astrid. Astrid takes him under her wing and shows him the beauty of Denmark. Herb also discovers a lovable stray dog that won’t leave his side, and begins to feel a sense of belonging in Denmark.
As Herb begins to embrace his new life, he faces a dilemma when he is offered a chance to turn himself in to the authorities. With the help of his newfound friends, Herb must decide whether to turn himself in or keep living a lie.
