Demonlover is a French psychological thriller film directed by Olivier Assayas. The movie revolves around two corporations, Volf Corporation and Mangatronics, who compete with each other to acquire the rights to distribute pornographic 3D animated films in the U.S.
Diane de Monx (Connie Nielsen), a Volf Corporation executive, hires a Japanese translator, Elise Lipsky (Chloe Sevigny), to spy on Mangatronics and steal their secrets. However, Elise is quickly drawn into a web of intrigue and deception as she discovers that both corporations are involved in illegal and dangerous activities.
Meanwhile, a hacker named Demonlover (Jean-Baptiste Malartre) is blackmailing both corporations and manipulating events to his own advantage. As the tensions between the corporations escalate and the violence increases, the line between reality and fantasy blurs, and Elise finds herself in over her head.
