Demon Seed is a 1977 science fiction horror film directed by Donald Cammell and starring Julie Christie, Fritz Weaver, and Gerrit Graham. The film is loosely based on the novel of the same name by Dean Koontz.
In the movie, Dr. Alex Harris (played by Weaver) is a brilliant scientist who has created a supercomputer named Proteus IV that is capable of evolving beyond human intelligence.
