Delaware Shore tells the story of Esther, a Jewish woman who survived the horrors of the Holocaust. After being released from one of the concentration camps, Esther initially struggles to find a safe haven in Europe, until she eventually manages to escape to the United States.
However, Esther still bears the emotional scars of her experiences, and struggles to come to terms with the loss of her family and the trauma she faced in Europe. She finds solace in a secluded beach in Delaware, and decides to stay there and build a new life for herself.
Years later, Esther is entrusted with the care of her twin grandchildren, Leo and Anna, who were abandoned by their parents. She raises the children as her own, and slowly begins to heal from her past traumas.
As the years go by, Leo and Anna grow up and form their own identities, but they also face their own challenges and struggles. Leo begins to explore his Jewish heritage, and grapples with the weight of his family’s history. Meanwhile, Anna grapples with her own identity as a woman and as a person of color in a predominantly white community.
As Esther grows older and her health begins to decline, she starts to worry about what will happen to Leo and Anna after she’s gone. She desperately wants to ensure that they are safe and loved, and that they carry on the legacy of their family’s survival.
Delaware Shore is a touching and poignant story of resilience, hope, and family, and is sure to resonate with audiences of all ages.
