Dr. Michael Cayle moves with his wife and daughter from New York City to the small town of Ashborough in search of a quieter life and to be closer to his family. However, the idyllic life he envisioned soon turns into a nightmare when he discovers a terrifying secret about the town's residents.
The movie is based on the novel by Michael Laimo and features a family struggling to deal with the darkness and mystery surrounding their new home. Dr. Cayle discovers that the town is controlled by a group of creatures living in the woods that are hellbent on controlling the town and the people who live there.
As the story progresses, Dr. Cayle is forced to confront the dark forces in the town and make a difficult decision to protect his family's safety. The movie builds up tension as the family becomes more aware of the danger they are in and the creatures' powers.
Deep in the Darkness stars Sean Patrick Thomas as Dr. Cayle, Dean Stockwell as Phil Deighton, and Kristen Bush as Christine Cayle. The movie was directed by Colin Theys and premiered on the Chiller network in 2014. It is rated R for violence and gore.
