Dedication is a romantic comedy-drama film directed by Justin Theroux in 2007. The film stars Billy Crudup as Henry Roth, a successful children's book author with an aversion to relationships and socializing. After the sudden death of his illustrator and best friend Rudy (Tom Wilkinson), Henry is faced with an urgent deadline for his next book.

Enter Lucy (Mandy Moore), a young and beautiful illustrator assigned to work with Henry on his new book. Lucy is determined to make a name for herself in the industry and, despite Henry's cynicism and resistance, manages to bring out the best in him. However, their working relationship proves to be complicated, as Henry is haunted by the ghosts of love and loss and struggles to let go of his past.

As they spend more time together, Henry and Lucy begin to develop feelings for each other. However, their budding romance is jeopardized by Henry's emotional baggage, his self-destructive behavior, and his reluctance to open up to Lucy. In addition, Lucy is hiding a secret of her own that threatens to derail their relationship.

As Henry and Lucy navigate the ups and downs of their partnership, they learn about each other's strengths and vulnerabilities and discover that sometimes taking a gamble on life can lead to unexpected rewards. Meanwhile, Henry's editor (Dianne Wiest) and Lucy's boyfriend (Martin Freeman) offer their own perspectives on love and relationships, adding depth and humor to the story.

With its witty dialogue, engaging performances, and heartfelt message, Dedication is a charming and uplifting film that explores the transformative power of love and creativity.
