In Death Wish 4: The Crackdown, Paul Kersey has left his vigilante ways behind and has settled into a peaceful life with his girlfriend Karen Sheldon (Kay Lenz). One day, Karen's daughter dies from a drug overdose, and it is revealed that she was unknowingly involved with a drug cartel run by the ruthless drug lord Ed Zacharias (John P. Ryan).
Enraged by the loss of Karen's daughter, Paul decides to take matters into his own hands and goes after the drug cartel. With the help of a journalist named Bennett (Perry Lopez), Paul begins to uncover the inner workings of the drug operation and starts to dismantle it piece by piece.
As he takes down Zacharias' gang, Paul finds himself becoming more and more ruthless, going to great lengths to bring justice to those who have been affected by the drug trade. But as he gets closer to Zacharias, Paul realizes that he may have bitten off more than he can chew and that the drug lord will stop at nothing to protect his empire.
