The movie Death in Venice is adapted from a novella of the same name by Thomas Mann. Gustav von Aschenbach, played by Dirk Bogarde, is a famous composer who has lost his inspiration and is suffering from writer's block. He travels to Venice in search of a change of scenery and to find some peace and inspiration.
