In Death Becomes Her, Madeline (Meryl Streep) is a successful actress who is aging and desperate to maintain her beauty and youth. She discovers a mysterious woman named Lisle (Isabella Rossellini) who offers her a potion that will grant her immortality and keep her youthful forever. Madeline convinces her rival and former fiancé of Ernest (Bruce Willis), Helen (Goldie Hawn), to also take the potion.
As the women become immortal, they soon realize that the potion has unintended consequences - their bodies start to deteriorate and fall apart, and they are unable to die. Madeline and Helen turn on each other and attempt to kill one another in increasingly violent and bizarre ways. Meanwhile, Ernest becomes caught in the middle of their feud while struggling with his own feelings towards both women.
As the years pass, Madeline and Helen's physical condition deteriorates to the point where they are little more than walking corpses. Lisle reappears and offers them a chance to undo the effects of the potion, but it comes with a twist that neither of them expects.
Death Becomes Her is a dark comedy that explores the themes of aging, vanity, and the price one pays for eternal youth. The film features stunning special effects that were groundbreaking at the time of its release, as well as memorable performances by Streep, Hawn, and Willis.
