Dear Wendy is a 2005 drama film directed by Thomas Vinterberg and written by Lars von Trier. The film is set in an economically struggling fictional American town called Estherslope, where a group of teenagers form a secret gun club called the Dandies. The club is led by a pacifist teenager named Dick Dandelion, who believes in the sanctity of human life and the power of guns to maintain peace.
The club members all have nicknames that reflect their personality traits, including Krugsby, Huey, Freddie, Susan, and Stevie. The group's philosophy is based on a text called "The Pikar Manual", which instructs them to never use their guns to harm anyone.
When Sebastian, a young man from a nearby town, joins the group, he becomes close to Dick and reveals that he is the grandson of Clarabelle, who was Dick's nanny when he was a child. Sebastian is afraid of the other gangs in his town and seeks refuge in Estherslope.
As the Dandies become more united, they begin to challenge the other gangs in the area. However, events transpire that push the group past posturing. The Dandies are forced to confront their beliefs and choose between their strict pacifism and protecting themselves and those they love.
