Deadly Eyes is a horror film released in 1982, directed by Robert Clouse. The film's story is based on James Herbert's best-selling novel The Rats. The film tells the story of a group of rats who have grown to the size of small dogs due to their consumption of steroid-tainted grain. The rats begin attacking humans in Toronto, Canada, making their way through the city's sewer system.
Paul Harris (Sam Groom), a college basketball coach, and Kelly Leonard (Sara Botsford), a local health inspector, team up to investigate the source of the rats' aggression. Eventually, the two discover that the rats have taken up residence in the subway system, endangering the lives of passengers.
Meanwhile, city officials are planning to open a new subway line, and Paul and Kelly must act quickly to prevent the rats from causing a massacre. With the help of a small team, they set out to find the rats' nest and destroy it before it's too late.
Deadly Eyes is known for its use of real-life rats, which were trained and filmed to give the illusion of larger-than-life creatures.
