After their botched casino heist, Addison (played by Eric Bana) and Liza (played by Olivia Wilde) are on the run in a snowy landscape. Meanwhile, Jay (played by Charlie Hunnam) and his parents are driving home for Thanksgiving, when they hit a deer and crash their car in the same area. Both sets of characters find themselves stranded in a desolate town, with Addison and Liza apprehended by the police and Jay trying to find his way to safety. However, as fate would have it, Liza manages to escape from custody and stumbles upon Jay's house, where she is invited in by his parents (played by Sissy Spacek and Kris Kristofferson). As the family comes together for their Thanksgiving meal, the tension mounts with the arrival of Addison, who is still on the run and looking for a way out of town. With secrets and lies abound, and a snowstorm that threatens to cut them off from the rest of the world, the family must confront their own demons and decide who they can trust in order to survive.
