Dead Silence is a horror movie directed by James Wan, who is best known for his work on the Saw franchise. Mary Shaw was a famous ventriloquist who was loved by the people of Raven's Fair. However, when a child went missing during one of her performances, the townspeople turned against her and blamed her for the disappearance. They chased her down, cut out her tongue, and killed her. As legend has it, Mary Shaw's spirit lives on in the form of her ventriloquist dummies, which she used to perform with. The dummies are said to have a life of their own, and anyone who speaks ill of Mary Shaw or her dummies is cursed to suffer a similar fate.
As Jamie investigates the connection between his wife's murder and Mary Shaw, he learns that his entire family is in danger. He must race against time to unravel the truth behind Mary Shaw's curse and put an end to it before it claims more lives.
The movie is known for its creepy atmosphere, eerie music, and effective use of jump scares. The ventriloquist dummies, especially Billy, are a source of terror throughout the film. Dead Silence received mixed reviews from critics but has gained a cult following over the years.
