Breaking Reaper Rules: Living Revelations and Temptations

Drama,Fantasy,Comedy  United States of America

Dead Like Me: Life After Death is a 2009 American fantasy comedy-drama film, directed by Stephen Herek, and based on the television series Dead Like Me. The film follows the story of George (Ellen Muth), a young woman who becomes a grim reaper after she dies at the age of 18. Along with her fellow reapers, George helps guide the souls of the dead to the afterlife.

When the team gets a new boss named Cameron Kane (Henry Ian Cusick), they begin to break the strict rules of their profession. Kane is focused on moving souls quickly and enjoying life without consequence, something that is against the ethics of reaping. The team becomes divided as some members, including Daisy (Sarah Wynter), become obsessed with money, success, and fame.

Meanwhile, George breaks another rule and reveals her true identity to her living family. Her family is struggling with the loss of a loved one and George's return as a grim reaper only adds to their confusion. Throughout the film, George must navigate her relationships with her family and her reaper colleagues while adhering to the rules of her profession and maintaining the balance of life and death.

Dead Like Me: Life After Death was met with mixed reviews, with some criticizing it for being a lackluster continuation of the original series, while others praised it for its humor and characters. Despite the mixed reception, the film remains a cult favorite among fans of the original show.
