Dead End Drive-In is a post-apocalyptic film set in an alternative future where inflation has spiraled out of control, making basic necessities like food and shelter unaffordable for the unemployed and undesirable. As a result, drive-in theaters have been converted into concentration camps for these individuals.

The story follows Crabs, a rebellious teenager who loves cars and drag racing, and his girlfriend Carmen, who are among the new prisoners at one such drive-in camp. Crabs is determined to escape the camp and return to the outside world, but he soon discovers that the guards are ruthless and heavily armed. Meanwhile, Carmen is more accepting of their new life and sees the camp as a safer haven than the dangerous world outside.

As Crabs tries to come up with a plan to escape, he befriends a group of fellow prisoners who are also trying to find a way out. They work together to gather resources and weapons, but things go awry when one of their own betrays them to the guards.

Dead End Drive-In is a commentary on the growing income inequality of the 1980s, with the drive-in camp serving as a metaphor for the growing divide between the rich and poor. The film also touches on themes of youth rebellion, government oppression, and the dangers of authoritarianism.
