De Lo Mio is a 2019 drama film directed by Diana Peralta. The story follows two sisters, Rita and Carolina, who were born and raised in New York City, but their family is originally from the Dominican Republic. Their father, who passed away years ago, left them a house in the Dominican Republic, and they decide to travel there to clean it out and sell it.

Upon arriving in the Dominican Republic, the sisters reunite with their estranged brother, Dante. The three siblings have not seen each other in years, and they struggle to reconnect. Their time in the ancestral home brings up memories of their childhood, their parents, and their Dominican heritage.

As they work together to clean out the house, the siblings confront their past traumas and resentments. Rita, who is the eldest sister, resents Dante for leaving the family when they were young. Carolina, the younger sister, struggles with her identity as a Dominican-American and feels disconnected from her roots. Dante, who has stayed in the Dominican Republic, resents his sisters for abandoning their homeland.

Throughout the film, the siblings laugh, brawl, and face their demons as they come to terms with letting go of their last connection to their motherland. They also encounter a cast of colorful characters, including a neighbor who remembers their family, and a young girl who becomes a confidant to Carolina.

De Lo Mio is a moving portrayal of family, heritage, and identity. It is a tribute to the complexities and challenges of growing up between two cultures and the strength of familial bonds.
