Horror,Action,Fantasy,Science Fiction  Russia

Day Watch is a Russian fantasy action film released in 2006, directed by Timur Bekmambetov. It is the second installment in The Watch film series, following Night Watch (2004).

The movie is set in modern-day Moscow, where a secret society of supernatural beings called "Others" exists alongside humans. These Others are divided into two groups: the forces of Light and the forces of Darkness. The balance of power between the two sides is maintained by a treaty that forbids them from directly interfering with each other.

The protagonist, Anton Gorodetsky (played by Konstantin Khabensky), is an Other who serves in the Day Watch, the organization responsible for policing the actions of the Dark Others. He is also a single father, struggling to balance his duties as a guardian with his responsibilities to his son.

Early in the movie, Anton comes into possession of a powerful artifact called the Chalk of Fate, which has the ability to change reality and restore life to Moscow. Anton's superiors in the Day Watch believe that he has stolen the Chalk in order to break the treaty and tip the balance of power in favor of the Light.

At the same time, the Dark Others are plotting to use the Chalk to their own ends. They kidnap Anton's son and demand that he hand over the artifact in exchange for the boy's life.

Anton navigates a complex web of alliances, double-crosses, and betrayals as he tries to protect his son, prevent a catastrophic war between the Light and Dark forces, and discover the true intentions of those who seek to control the Chalk of Fate.

Day Watch blends elements of action, horror, and political thriller, as well as Russian folklore and mythology, to create a rich and immersive world. The movie's stunning visual effects and high-energy action sequences helped it become a blockbuster hit in Russia and a cult favorite overseas.
