Day of the Outlaw is a gritty, tense Western film written and directed by Andre De Toth. The movie opens with a group of outlaws galloping across the snow-covered plains of Wyoming, led by the charismatic, but vicious, Jack Bruhn (played by Robert Ryan). They ride into the small town of Bitters, where they take over the local saloon and demand the townsfolk hand over all their guns.

Meanwhile, the local rancher, Blaise Starrett (played by Burl Ives), is in a bitter feud with the homesteaders who have moved onto his land. The tension between Starrett and the farmers is high, with both sides armed and ready for a fight.

When Bruhn and his gang show up, both the ranchers and homesteaders are forced to put their differences aside and band together to stand up to the outlaws. But Bruhn is a wily and unpredictable foe, constantly playing mind games and sowing division within the group.

As if that isn't enough, Starrett discovers that Bruhn has been seriously wounded and only has a few days to live. With the outlaws' leader on death's door, the tension in the town ratchets up even higher as the gang becomes increasingly frantic and unpredictable.

What follows is a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat battle for survival as the townsfolk try to hold out against the outlaws until they can be rescued. Along the way, there are daring gunfights, tense standoffs, and plenty of unexpected twists and turns.

Day of the Outlaw is a gripping Western that defies expectations and delivers a powerful message about the importance of putting aside our differences in the face of a common threat.
